This regiment is one of the famous regiments of the Great British Army of the Napoleonic wars having distinguished itself tremendously at both Quatre Bras and Waterloo, prompting the Duke of Wellington to personally thank the regiment for its outstanding conduct in the Hundred Days campaign.
