The Porcelain figures painted in the traditional Vieux Herend (VH) pattern scales form one of the best-loved groups of Herend porcelain articles. This type of Herend figure dates back to 1860 when the first little statue of a cockerel was painted in VH livery for the famous author Mor Jokai who used the penname "Cockerel" in the Hungarian newspapers of that time. Since then a collection of almost three hundred pieces has been created. The 'Fishnet' pattern is drawn with a pen and then painted with a brush, the scales call for meticulous execution and expertise.
Here we present you with a small selection of the range provided by Herend. Due to the large range of pieces available you can order an item in any of the seven colourways available. You may want an Unicorn in yellow (VHJ), so if we do not have it in stock we shall request Herend to make this for you. Special orders will take between four to eight weeks to complete. So as a special gift you can always say the piece was made just for you.
